How To Grow Your LinkedIn Network In 2019

Do you want more LinkedIn connections?

Of course you do! That is why you clicked this article.

LinkedIn has officially crossed over half-billion users in 2017, and this continues to grow by the day.

I have been using LinedIn for several years now and I have noticed within the last 18 months that it has really become an effective marketing tool for my company Grand Apps.

I actually landed some of our largest client projects from LinkedIn.

Here are some quick statistics that will show the power of LinkedIn before we jump into 3 ways you can grow your LinkedIn network in 2019.

  • 61 million users are senior level influencers and around 40 million have a decision-making role.

  • There are 87 million Millennials on LinkedIn with 11 million in decision-making positions.

  • 44% of LinkedIn users earn more than $75,000 in a year.

  • There are about 56% male users and 44% female users on LinkedIn.

From this data we can gather that if you want to get in front of decision-makers in an organization, LinkedIn is probably your best social media channel to leverage.

But how do you effectively grow your LinkedIn Network?

Let me explain.

Step 1

Use Nearby Bluetooth Quick Connect

LinkedIn has a handy feature where you can use Bluetooth to add someone to your network with a click of a button. If you're reading this article then chances are you are likely networking. This feature will easily allow you to climb the LinkedIn ranks while you're out, and with ease.

Stop wasting money on business cards, just ask someone to pull up their LinkedIn profile, activate Bluetooth and add that contact in seconds.

Step 2

Produce And Post Content

I know.

I get it.

"You don't have time to produce or post content."

"You don't like the way your face looks!"

"You don't like how much you sweat on camera or in pictures."

Listen, I've heard every excuse in the book. I really have. You can sit on the sidelines and consume content, or you can leverage this platform and make it work for you and your business. You must first identify who your connections are.

For example, I am connected with a lot of CEO's and Entrepreneurs because that is what I am. I know what content and topics will relate to them the most, so that is the content I try to produce.

I use a good mixture of pictures to video to just text based posts.

Start posting TODAY! I mean it. LinkedIn is so powerful. I received 25,000+ views on a single post recently and I only have 5,500 connections.

Step 3

Be Active In The "Community"

What do I mean?

The "community" is your network. You must be active in order for it to really work and see the magic of LinkedIn at scale.

Don't be that person who just posts and expects people to like, comment and share.

"That is like walking down the street and not making eye contact to anyone or saying hi and expecting people to connect with you and follow you."

Get in the comments and engage. Look for posts that have only around 10 - 50 comments and start commenting. This is a perfect range because your comments won't get lost in the thousand comment posts. This also shows that it's trending and people are relating to the content and interacting.

Try this out.
